I have decided to observe my 90th birthday with  relatives and  friends Saturday,  August 24

A try at my blog

I have neglected my blog for weeks and was not certain I would ever re-activate it but I am giving it another try.  The presidential campaign has sickened me. My decision is to try again.

News sources and reporters are most to blame.  Instead of explainging the effects each candidate will hurt or help the economy, the candidate is called on to use obscene and and foolish words, the candidates are forced to be silly,  vulgar and shameful.

This nation is in trouble, at home  and at sea.  Instead of helping the economy by expanding the production of coal, oil  and gas, the nation  handicaps their production.  We must eliminate unneeded rules and encourage

small industry to grow and provide jobs.

All over the world innocent people are tortured and killed. while our only response is no: troops on the ground,  that was not the way we responded in World war 2.

Mozambique is the destination

Would you and your family serve as missionaries to Mozambique, one of the poorest nations in the world?

David McCormick, with his wife and two children left this week to serve three years in the seventh   poorest

nation the world has.   David has been active in Grace Memorial Metrhodist Church  for several  years;  He

was a youth leader at Christ before that.

I know he can use financial help in this worthwhile  project.

Conventions fail u

The national conventions to choose candidates for president are near the end as I write.    have stayed silent for two reasons --the conventions have failed to produce solutions to three problems -- safety of the nation, jobs for workers and health care we can afford.  My health problems is the third reason.

The Democrats have ignored ISIS even though terrorist attacks continue.  Neither they nor the Republicans know how to improve the economy and ordinary citizens face health costs they cannot meet.

I may be unable or unwilling to propose measures to address the problems  but I will stay  informed..

I have a snall hope

Will it matter? The Republicans launched their convention Monday night with some eloquent speeches, leading up to the nomination of Trump for president later.  The convention goes on for a week and will be followed by the Democrat convention next week.

Will any of it matter?  The economy  must  be repaired and the president must show some leadership in halting the murders of policemen.  ISIS controls the world, killing with bombs, explosives and trucks.

Can the Republicans select a leader who will make a difference?    I am just a little bit  hopeful.

Terrorists strike again

Eighty-four were killed and 202 were wounded by a terrorist truck driver in Nice, France, Thursday morning.   Terrorists have struck France three times in a period of several weeks.  Terrorist groups have waged war against several nations.  Hundreds have been killed by ISIS and other terrorists.

When will we return  their attacks?

My blog will live

No, I have not dropped my blog entirely.  Actually, it is not the case that I have lost the urge to write; just the opposite, I have too many subjects challenging me for comments.  Murdering five policemen and two bailiffs was more than I can handle.  Maybe, I will recover my mental and emotional balance  in a few days.
